Several years ago I attended Conroe, Tx’s Catfish Festival. I saw the group Inka Wayar playing live (two years in a row). It’s a humble group. The music is extraordinary though. It’s soo relaxing and soothing for my ears. You can find some of their tracks here. I prefer the music without words. It’s just so peaceful. When I hear it, it always reminds me of my sisters dad who passed away nine years ago. It’s seems so long ago. His name was Luis. He was from Peru. My dad is from El Salvador, but I always felt closer to my sister’s dad. He was such a good man. I do miss him. InshaAllah, I hope when my sister travels to Peru again, I will be able to go with her. It is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
Relax and enjoy…
This group is called Wayra Inka…I’m thinking its different from the one above.
and also
Peru is my favorite country
Salams ukhtee, I’ve tagged you for the 6-word memoir meme.
Salaams & thanks for sharing the beautiful music!
There was an Andean band that played in Harvard Sq quite often when I lived in the Boston area. Their sound was rather like that in the second video, but without the singing.
Insha-Allah would love to climb up to Machu Picchu sometime.
Warmly,
Baraka
